Guam:
Venue announcement!
Fray Day Guam will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2002, at the University of Guam English building atrium. Doors open at 6pm. Opening band, GasCap starts at 6.30pm. Storytelling starts at 7pm.
Refreshments will be available, but feel free to bring your own food. And because the atrium sort of outdoors, please feel free to bring your own chair or picnic blanket.
Most importantly, bring your stories! (We're still looking for featured artists.. email us!)
Interactive arts ideas include:
the big black box (Where Were You?) - Alan Jackson wrote a heartfelt song last year, based on the events of September 11, titled "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" that inspired this interactive piece. A year later, most of us can still remember what we were doing at the exact moment we heard the news of the attacks. We invite you to step inside the big black box, lined with a map of the world, and pin your story up on your exact location on that tragic day. Where were you?
Creation/Destruction OR Destruction/Creation - create something and then destroy it. Rebuild it with others and their destroyed creations.
the bulletin board - For sale, meeting next Tuesday, roommate wanted, Jesus loves me. Post your announcement on our bulletin board, or take one with you. A mini-exhibit on cork board.
the refrigerator door - Do you remember when your mom used to post your crayola drawing or gold star on the fridge? do you enjoy magnetic poetry or adorning your fridge with pictures and momentos? Stop by our Fray Day fridge and add your gold star or momento, for the whole Fray family to see.
And The Electric Danish is scheduled as our intermission band.
We'll post more info as we think of it!
