Los Angeles:
First Wave of Featured Bios
Here's a taste of who you'll hear tell stories at this year's FD6LA:
Steven-Elliot Altman considers himself a “storyteller” and finds himself equally at home writing novels, screenplays or advertising campaigns. He recently created a literary anthology called THE TOUCH, which was a WRITE AID project to benefit both AIDS and Cancer charities and it received rave reviews from both Publisher’s Weekly and Asimov’s Science Fiction. Go figure. His latest novel, DEPRIVERS, due out from Putnam, regards a recently uncovered medical epidemic called Sensory Deprivation Syndrome, where those infected can render you blind or deaf by making simple skin-on-skin contact. His website is www.deprivers.com and he gives a shout out to Fray for being the one of the few places where stories come to LIVE!
Juliet Curry, who is excited to join "the Fray", has performed in LA, Chicago and around the world with a variety of groups and shows, including The Second City, ComedySportz, Improv Olympic and the critically acclaimed shows of Boom Chicago (based in Amsterdam!) Juliet currently performs every week in "Powerbox", at Improv Olympic. She is also busy writing and performing her real-life stories, including a piece that is a part of the solo show "Deflowered," which has been performed in theaters and festivals around LA.
Paul Jacek received his training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West. He is one of the Founders of Nobody's Fools Improv Group in Long Beach one of the Founders of the Gay and Lesbian Comedy Night at the Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. Jacek’s one-man-show "Secrets of a Beverly Hills Shampoo Boy" ran for a year at Masquer's Cabaret. My new show "Tray Tables Up! My Walk in the Clouds" will open at the Whitmore/Lindley Theatre, September 22-November 17. This is my second appearance with Fray! and so excited about it....
