Tucson News

Frayed in Tucson

Tucson's first Fray Day is over and we're all happy with how well it went. There was a lot happening in town this weekend but once our event got started we all had a great time and heard from some fabulous people. Pictures from the event and of our interactive art projects will be scanned in and uploaded soon. Can't wait to see how *next* year shapes up!

KXCI Interview

The mp3 of the interview Maggie Golston and I did on KXCI today is available here (3.3mb).

Final Poster Design!

Here is the final design for the posters and fliers we've been putting up around town. Feel free to download and distribute your own! And thanks to Raphrat for the great design!

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

With a week to go we're shuffling things around a bit. Lost some featured performers, gained some new ones, it's all good in the end! We're excited to add Jef Hamby as a performer and to announce our radio interview on KXCI 91.3 FM during "The Home Stretch" at 5:30pm this Friday the 13th! Cia Romano will be providing event information and Maggie Golston will be performing a short illustrative piece, be sure to tune in!

Music!

Some of the crew from AZsessions, a weekly live jam session broadcast over the Internet, are going to grace us with their DJ skills before and after the spoken performances at our event! Specifically, johnny birkinbine [jcat], scott gustafson [emmfour] and dan taylor [indigo] will be spinning. Woo! Maybe we'll even convince them to, y'know, talk!

Featured Performers

Here it is, our confirmed list of Featured Performers! (descriptions as available):

Steve - from old-time Hollywood stuntman stories to PVC panties and drag queens, he's really seen it all!
Patty Castro
Lokali - A dual performance as these friends duel on sex and religion.
Maggie
Fish Karma
Molly

Poster preview

Here is a preview of our poster. I'll make it available for download after we make a couple more tweaks. Big props to the Raphrat for this design!

weekly meets and updates

First of the updates coming in! Diane Bombshelter of KXCI radio has confirmed as out emcee! Our list of featured performers is filling out nicely! We have our poster and flier design!

We'll be having more updates after each of our weekly meetings from now on. Stay tuned for pics of the venue and our poster.

Venue announcement!

Cia and I are happy to announce that Fray Day 6 will celebrate its first year in Tucson at the historic Hotel Congress on Saturday, September 14th. Stay tuned as we line up featured speakers and more!
