Copenhagen News

Epilogue: Copenhagen

As promised, here is the full story of what went down at Fray Day in Copenhagen.

The evening offered four featured speakers, four who signed up for open mic, two bands (Dong/Kofod played between the featured and open mic speakers and Crash Replay took the stage afterwards).

The stories were all equally fascinating, personal and entertaining. And they ranged from tales of disastrous dates to a story of being alone on an island and going slightly mad. There was a story about life as a cab-driver, and a another about choosing a career based on something that proves to be false.

There was an extraordinary nice ambience, the crowd was good, and several people ecouraged a return of Fray Day next year. Some even sooner.

Personally, this being the time I arrange something like this, I was most pleasantly surprised. Thanks to all those who took part and helped out. In particular these are: Merlin, Dr. Olsen, Paul Hartvigson, Mette, Carsten Schaumburg, Onky, Kjersti, Dong/Kofod, Crash Replay and of course Palle @ Märkbar.

First glimpses

The Copenhagen event is well over. It was a great evening of fantastic stories. More details will follow, but for a first glimpse, take a look at some of good people in action!

The evening in short

Tomorrow the doors to the Copenhagen event opens at 7pm. The first half hour will be for meeting and greeting. Then follows a general introduction to the fray idea, the interactive art project, the musical entertainment and the open mic session.

The featured speakers will begin the evening with their stories, which is then followed by the music. After the break, it's open mic time.

Some have asked whether it is mandatory to tell a story, and of course that is not the case, but if you feel inspired or simply want to share an experience, you're encouraged to do so.

The official event ends at midnight with the conclusion of the art-project and thanks to the speakers. Hope to see you there!

The time is nigh

The flyers are out there, a handfull of featured speakers are lined up and everything is about as ready as it can get. Now we just have to wait and see what stories will be told.

Many have asked about Fray Day. For those who are curious and want to know more about the event, I suggest you check out the stories on fray.com or listen to the excerpts from fray café 2 (elsewhere on this site).

Entertainment!

I am proud to announce that the duo Dong/Kofod will be playing an acoustic set of grunge/folk in the pause between the featured performers and the open mic session.

Press release out

The official press release has left the building, posters and flyers have been printed and put up at the venue, the music is almost in place and more featured performers are being added to the list.

During the next week, posters will be put up at other related places, so watch out for them, if you're visiting Copenhagen cafés and/or libraries.

Poster available!

Check out the Copenhagen promo poster!

Also new on the Copenhagen front: Dr. Johan Olsen (known from Danish band "Magtens Korridorer") will perform as a featured speaker, alongside myself and others.

An official press release is underway.

Venue Announcement

Copenhagen will host the only Fray Day 6 in Northern Europe! I am pleased to announce that this will take place at Märkbar on Sunday the 15th @ 7pm!

I am in need of as many extra hands, as I can get. If you plan on attending the Copenhagen event, and think you could be of some help, please contact me asap!
